Getting to Iceland from London

Travelers coming from London have perhaps the most choice when it comes to airlines to fly between London and Reykjavik…and that’s still not much. The largest carrier is Icelandair, which offers multiple daily flights between the two cities for 130-350 euros each way depending on when you go and how far in advance you book. The flight takes about three hours.

You can also fly direct to Reykjavik on low-cost carrier, IcelandExpress, which only costs about 60 euros each way. If you’re willing to put up with a little less comfort on the short flight, this is certainly the cheaper way to go. Flights are offered daily all year round.

As Iceland is an island, you can’t drive there, but you can journey by boat. The three day trip on the Smyril Line from Denmark  to Iceland (via the Faroe Islands) operates all year, except from January to March, with prices starting at 65 euros per person.
